WASHINGTON (5 Jul) - U.S. Rep. Curt Weldon, vice chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, will appear as part of a roundtable discussion on CNN's "Larry King Live" for an entire hour this evening beginning at 9:00 p.m. EST. Weldon will discuss the recent long-range missile tests conducted by North Korea over this Pacific Ocean. He will also discuss the U.S. Missile Defense program and American preparedness in the event of a North Korean attack.

Congressman Weldon is a strong supporter of the U.S. Missile Defense program. He authored the Missile Defense Act and has championed the U.S. Missile Defense system's preparedness in the wake of a foreign missile attack

Weldon has long strived to reduce hostilities between the U.S. and North Korea. He has led several bipartisan Congressional Delegations to North Korea to strengthen the dialogue between the two nations. Congressman Weldon also vigorously supports the six-party negotiation process aimed at demilitarizing the Korean Peninsula and establishing normal relations.
